There are several critical developmental stages that your puppy goes through. This is why it is so important to socialize and train your puppy. It was always thought you had to wait until a puppy was 6 months old to start training because most training methods were too harsh. With our puppy training you can start soon after you bring the new puppy home. It is actually preferred and probably the best training method for your new puppy. Our puppy preschool and techniques are tailored for puppies of all breeds and sizes. The training is positive motivational training and you will also learn how the mother dog communicates with her puppies using “Doglish.” Most important you learn how to prevent behavior problems. For the health and safety of all enrolled puppies, please have completed at least two sets of shots from your veterinarian.

Dogs 4-1/2 months old and older
Is your 4-1/2 months old puppy starting to challenge you? Not surprising. Your puppy has turned into a teenager. It’s time for your dog to start Junior High and learn how to truly be a wonderful companion. In this class you will learn the techniques and system that made Alternative Canine Training famous. You and your dog are ready to embark on a journey to achieve the highest level of doggy education. We also address all types of behavior problems (except aggression).

So your dog completed the basic class and they have learned many useful skills, but you wish to continue improving these skills. If you don’t think they are ready for the advance classes.
This is the class for you. In the basic class your dog learns how to sit and stay. Great! In the intermediate class your dog will learn to hold that stay for longer periods of time and farther distances.
We will enhance the commands that your dog knows and learn a few new ones. This class is tailored to each individual dog to work on the specific obedience skills that the dog needs help on.

Now that your dog does everything perfectly on-leash it's time to work off-leash. Yes, off-leash. No, we do not use electric collars in this class. You will learn the old fashion European way of training a dog to walk and come off-leash. Join today and enjoy this newfound freedom.

After 5 short weeks your dog will be ready to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test (CGC). CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community.
The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic manners for dogs.
All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
This 6-week / 6 lesson program. You have 5 weeks of instruction and the CGC test on the 6th week.
